The Invisible Force- May The 4th
It's May 4th!
I have been mystified with the world's of Star Wars since I was very young.
Perhaps it was the idea of a hidden power that you can not see, at a time when I felt powerless. Or, perhaps it has something to do with the idea of endless adventure. The ability to transcend the limits of humanity, or even the ability to communicate beyond the norm.
However, now as an adult, I think it has something to do with the magic of the fantasy and the depth of the story.
As someone whose living comes from helping individuals find their voice and ultimately their power, I resonate with the force. For good or bad Star Wars has had decades to expand the lore and help inspire youth across the world. In that, the creators have been able to develop what feels like countless stories and flesh out even the smallest details of the force.
However, the idea of overcoming your pain, fighting to become stronger, and defying odds is what makes Star Wars special. I think for so many youth within the Neuro Diverse community this is the hook. The message that makes them braver, more hopeful, and more confident.
Star Wars at its heart has the beauty to make lives better in its way. That is a beautiful gift to give youth and their families.
As mentors, we can build on that, continue to spread that message, and maybe even inspire those around us to continue to share their stories with the world.
