D&D Camp Day 1 & 2

Day 1&2 of D&D Camp!

Life passes us by quickly! We have had our first two days of D&D camp!! The theme of the week seems to be making joy from chaos.

Still, in all the moments of confusion, fear, anxiety, and questions, something beautiful has grown. So far, we have 12 students learning how to play D&D games and even learning to be game masters.

Despite how absolutely tired, worn out, and a little frazzled I am, I can not understate how wonderful this has been already.

The youth have made friends, laughed, ran about, celebrated, and slane so many beasts. There is truly nothing like helping those who want to access their community find their home.

This is further proof that youth thrive when we act with empathy, listen without judgment, and honor them as the people they are. We do not shut them out. We do not yell, we do not name-call. We act with respect, and we act with integrity. As no one person deserves high-quality care more than anyone else.
