Words Are Meant Connect Us

Words are meant to connect us.

There is no perfect program, there is no perfect facilitator, and there is no perfect day. So often it is easy to judge forgetting this. So often it is easy to put ourselves first.

However,  whether in community programs, schools, or play spaces it is crucial to work to understand those who seek our care, and yo understand that we all have moments of anger, of worry, of anxiety, because of this we must act with empathy for those in our care. We must not label them as failures if they do not succeed in our care, but move forward to where they can thrive. We must not push them out for asking questions,  but encourage their desire for knowledge.  And we must move into the kind of kindness where we listen, value, and understand them.

No one is thr sum of their diagnosis,  no fault of their design, we are human, all seeking community,  never perfect, never flawless. But always with the ability to thrive, the potential to be our best, and the endless option to try again.
