Autism Resource Fair 2024

Hello all! I hope today is treating you well!
This last Saturday I served as the Sensory Friendly Event Specialist at an Autism Resource Fair. It was a blast discussing Sensory Friendly Events with families and community organizations.

If you do not know the core of my work is providing Event spaces that honor the accessibility and Sensory needs of those I work with. This involves going beyond just lighting, noise levels, and ramps it is about honoring all of who a person is. These events include Dungeons and Dragons,  Stories Meant For Movement,  Active Play Events, Classes, and more. All of these are meant to empower and uplift community voices while building community connections.

This event was filled with laughter, joy, Serenity, and fun. There were so many families who were connected to resources that they never heard of. My personal joy was being able to watch these families' joy and surprise when they learned that services like mine. To have those conversations and to help families get better connected to community support is a blessing that I never want to take for granted.
